In response to the growing need for customizable and affordable connectivity, Cisco and NTT DATA have teamed up to enhance wireless connectivity for global enterprises, offering a unified solution supported by the robust services of both companies.
Traditionally, landlines have been the primary method for connecting business spaces. However, with the advent of eSIM technology, it’s time to rethink connectivity, offering secure network solutions wherever they’re needed. “Together with NTT DATA, we believe we can enable a faster, simpler, and more efficient way for enterprises to securely connect their operations through an improved setup and provisioning process,” said Masum Mir, SVP/GM of Cisco Provider Mobility. “This collaboration is transformative for the enterprise sector, providing valuable use cases such as on-demand SD-WAN, rapid 5G carrier scaling, and edge computing for IoT applications.”
This expanded partnership furthers their shared goal of delivering innovative, secure, and high-quality digital services to meet the increasing demand for flexible connectivity, leveraging Cisco’s eSIM technology, originally integrated into Cisco’s infrastructure solutions.
By connecting to NTT DATA’s Transatel network, the eSIM will allow customers to activate, provision, and configure Cisco solutions effortlessly, streamlining the setup process for secure mobile branches that can be deployed on-demand, with continuous enhanced network management.
With eSIM technology at its core, organizations can easily scale and manage their network needs, ensuring their networks remain connected and optimized for peak performance.
“There are numerous industry applications—such as in retail, manufacturing, hospitality, financial services, and more—where there is a significant demand for setting up secure mobile branch services quickly,” said Andrew Brown, Practice Lead for IoT Research at Omdia. “The ability to reduce setup and installation costs, while providing essential services like backup in a secure, managed environment, is crucial for customers. This integration between Cisco and NTT DATA simplifies and accelerates the process of scaling operations and complements traditional fixed-line services.”
This collaboration enables enterprises to remotely manage and monitor Cisco infrastructure, connecting to NTT DATA’s Transatel network in over 180 countries, with flexible pricing plans, transforming the digital experience for mobile workforces globally.
“Together with Cisco, NTT DATA is establishing a new standard for enterprise connectivity and customer experiences,” said Shahid Ahmed, Group Executive Vice President of Edge Services at NTT DATA. “This partnership is bringing the future of connectivity to the present, empowering businesses to focus on their digital transformation without the burden of complex network management.”
“Mobile and distributed enterprises today face mounting pressure to streamline operations while accessing real-time, high-quality data for faster decision-making. Seamless, secure, and scalable connectivity is now essential for driving innovation and growth in a connected world,” said Alejandro Cadenas, Associate Vice President at IDC, and mobility, 5G, and IoT lead for Europe. “These developments represent a broader shift toward democratizing access to advanced connectivity solutions, enabling organizations of all sizes to seize emerging opportunities with greater agility and confidence.”
