At 8:37 p.m., a Falcon 9 rocket launched from Space Launch Complex 40 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, carrying an additional 23 Starlink satellites from Elon Musk’s company. The booster, with a rich history, had previously flown on several notable missions, including the Crew Demo-2, ANASIS-11, CRS-21, Transporter-1, Transporter-3, and 13 Starlink missions.
Following the successful liftoff, the booster made a triumphant return landing in the Atlantic on the droneship named A Shortfall of Gravitas. This accomplishment adds to the 60 Space Coast launches this year, surpassing the record set last month when missions from either the Canaveral or neighboring Kennedy Space Center exceeded the 57 launches managed in 2002.
Notably, this year, Canaveral has been responsible for 49 rocket launches, while the Kennedy Space Center has overseen 11. Among these, nearly all (with only four exceptions) have been managed by SpaceX, which has also executed 23 launches from California.
